On Tuesday, President Andrzej Duda will ceremoniously sign a law that extends the group of people entitled to free medicines to children under 18 and seniors over 65.
This concerns the amendment of the Public Health Care Act and the Act on the Reimbursement of Medicines, Foods for Special Nutrition and Medical Devices.
A specific list of medicines, foodstuffs intended for special nutritional purposes and medical devices will be published by the Minister of Health in a communication – separately for persons under 18 years of age and separately for patients over 65 years of age.
Until now, free medicines listed by the Ministry of Health were available to people over the age of 75.
Announcement of “Programowy Ula PiS”
The introduction of free medicines for seniors 65 years and older and children under 18 years old was announced in mid-May by Deputy Prime Minister, Head of PiS Jarosław Kaczyński at the “Programowy Ul of Law and Justice” convention.
