“You have said one important thing in this program: you will not take part in the referendum. So whatever you say about privatisation, the retirement age, the border wall, it is a signal that something is going on and that you are afraid of something.” – said Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka, PiS MP, in the program “Woronicza 17”. Miłosz Kłeczek also hosted Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka (PiS MP), Hanna Gil-Piątek (KO MP), Łukasz Rzepecki (Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland), Marcin Kulasek (Left MP), Sebastian Kateta (MP of Sovereign Poland) and Paweł Bejda (MP Third Way).
In the studio of TVP INFO, a fierce dispute broke out between politicians over the issue of the referendum, which will be held at the same time as the parliamentary elections on October 15. The issue of credibility and the fact that the referendum vote is a litmus test for the election promises of all electoral commissions have been particularly emphasized.
Campaign Referendum
Third Way MP Paweł Bejda accused the United Right of deliberately using the referendum for specific political purposes in the election campaign.
Law and Justice is not interested in the outcome of the referendum, nor in its validity. It is only about taking money from state-owned companies for political advertising, and also arousing emotions. After all, there is no question of privatizing strategic companies. That’s what my community thinks
he said.
PiS MP Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka referred to the statement by opposition politicians announcing a boycott of the referendum on October 15, pointing out that the Civic Platform is unreliable in its promises to improve the social programs introduced by its party’s governments, to maintain.
You have said one important thing in this program: you will not take part in the referendum. So whatever you say about privatisation, the retirement age, the border wall, it is a signal that something is going on and that you are afraid of something. You have privatized companies – for example KGHM. For me, for example, Polish recordings are the symbol of this privatization. Even with something like this you sold a musical cultural doruk for 8 million. Let me remind you that you sold it right before you lost the election to make it in time
– she said.
The matter is simple: please tell the voters: we are going to a referendum, we have a clear conscience, we do not want privatization. And what we did as a PO-PSL coalition for eight years was a misunderstanding
– added the PiS MP, addressing opposition politicians.
Credibility of promises
Stachowiak-Różecka called the topic of credibility Campus Polska, an initiative organized by Rafał Trzaskowski’s community.
This campus is such a lie detector: what they don’t say there turns out to be. There was an application for Catholics, now Mr. Lewandowski jumped out with privatization, and Mrs. Kopacz reminds you that they preferred a fishing rod, not a fish. What they don’t say turns out to be a lie detector
she said.
The voice of the opposition was also represented in the program by MP from the left, Marcin Kulasek. He flatly admitted that he and his group would boycott the referendum mainly because it would take place during the election campaign.
The opposition will indeed boycott and boycott the referendum, but only because referenda need to be held on important issues for Poland, not in the election campaign and not in a situation where PiS is doing everything it can to win a third term. The referendum is only designed to allow PiS to pump money into the election campaign and win a third term. On the other hand, the real referendum will take place on October 15 – on whether PiS should continue to rule or not
– emphasized the left-wing MP.
Kulasek’s objections were raised by Sebastian Kaleta, who argued that the referendum would allow voters to verify which parties are credible in their programs and ideas and which are not.
It will be the other way around. The elections will determine who is sincere and honest and who is scheming and lying. Elections combined with a referendum are not only a decision about who will govern, but also an assessment of who is credible. If Tusk promised not to raise the retirement age and then does so, Poles have a right to feel cheated. They have the right to tie the hands of those who are going to vote in a referendum
he explained.
The referendum is the greatest celebration of democracy and you reject it. You reject the constitution and despise the voice of the Poles. This election will show who has pure intentions. We say ‘no’ four times in the referendum and the Poles can trust us that we will not raise the retirement age and that we will defend and maintain Polish security, that we will not sell our assets and that we will defend against migration. You are responsible for all these things
Kaleta concluded.
