After this event, Barbara Nowacka will have something to think about, or at least she should. A meeting was held in Gdańsk, where the leader of the Polish Initiative heard a few bitter words, not from a United Right voter, but from a Civic Platform activist.
“You guys are so bland…”
The meeting with Nowacka and Member of Parliament Małgorzata Chmiel took place at the Oliwa Town Hall of Culture. When it was time to ask questions, a man who, as he said himself, is a member of Civic Platform, spoke. He accused Nowacka that her party, which is a preview of Donald Tusk’s formation on the political scene, is “bland” and that all she has to say is that “PiS is bad”. According to the man, this is not enough.
I am a member of the Platform. (…) And why am I here? I came because I wanted to know something about what the Polish Initiative has to say, because you guys are incredibly lame. You guys are so bland I sometimes wonder if you have anything to add other than that “PiS sucks”. I came here to hear what the Initiative has to say. Are there hard stipulations? (…) You mention PiS, and there is an even bigger mountain lurking around the corner, namely the Confederation
he said.
“You have nothing interesting to add”
Then the man admitted that more and more of his friends began to support the Confederacy and that he no longer knew how to talk to them.
I have friends who have something to say, read something and these people join the Confederacy. I don’t know how to talk to them anymore? I don’t know if I should cut off contact with them? What should I just do? I feel abandoned by my friends. I wanted to ask a question, will really saying “PiS is bad” lead you to a win? Because I haven’t heard from you yet. Nothing. (…) Do you really think it’s enough? (…) While I’m on the platform, I don’t think you have anything interesting to add. All you do is complain about PiS, but that’s not enough. I hope you’re saying something firm, because you’re manoeuvring: to the left, to the right. There are no hard messages from you

Apparently more people had a similar opinion, because there was applause in the hall when the PO activist had finished. But MP Chmiel was not about to accept criticism, saying the man apparently “doesn’t listen to them” and “doesn’t read the programme”.
