The delivery of F-16 warplanes will significantly increase the fighter jet fleet of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). Such a measure will lead to a change in the way Ukraine uses its air force, writes forbes.
“The 61 F-16s are enough to replace about half of the Ukrainian Air Force’s front-line fleet of about 125 Cold War MiG-29s, Cold War Su-25s, and Su-24s,” the publication says.
According to the publication, as soon as Ukraine receives its warplanes, Kiev will have two options. It could replace aging Soviet-era aircraft or double the size of the Air Force, Forbes reports.
