“I decided to go to the Senate on my own,” announced Joanna Senyszyn on the television wPolsce.pl. The deputy announced that she would be a candidate in Warsaw, but not against the Senate Pact, but against the candidates of PiS and the Confederation. She justified her independent start with the words “this is democracy”.
Senishyn is running for Senate
In an interview with Maciej Wolny on wPolsce.pl, Joanna Senyszyn announced that she would run for the Senate elections from Warsaw.
I expressed my willingness to walk from the Senate Pact as well as from the lists to the Sejm. I was recommended by the PPS, of which I am a member, to be part of a coalition of left parties, but Czarzasty vetoed it, not wanting to see me. The chairman of the prosecution did not fight for it at all, because he is only interested in his seat in the senate in Częstochowa and he gave up all PPP candidates in exchange for a seat
noted the politician.
That’s why I decided to run for the Senate on my own, because this is a real democracy. It can’t be like in 1989 that a picture with Wałęsa was enough to go to the Senate or the Sejm. Now the photo with Wałęsa and the Solidarity sign will replace the Senate Pact badge. Let’s take a look at how each candidate made it onto this Senate list. It was not the choice of the best, but the party bosses were given a number of districts and they decided what would happen
– noted Joanna Senyszyn.
What does the Senate Pact look like?
As she added, Magdalena Biejat in Warsaw was “pushed out of the Sejm” because “if she jumped over Mrs. Żukowska four years ago, she would jump over her even more now.”
Since Czarzasty wanted Żukowska to sit in the Sejm, although it is unknown if there will be two terms, there may be only one for Zandberg, he had to get rid of Ms. Biejat.
– stressed Joanna Senyszyn on wPolsce.pl, adding that she would leave from Warsaw, but not against the Senate Pact. She recalled that she was “the mother of the term ‘Kaczism’” and would run against “the candidate of PiS and the Confederacy, when he starts”.
Opposition leaders announced that work on the second edition of the Senate Pact has been completed. According to the provisions of the Senate Pact, PSL will cast its candidates for Senate in 21 constituencies, PO – in 51, Left has 15 seats, Poland 2050 – 8 candidates, Self-Government Movement Yes! For Poland – 3 candidates, there will be an impartial candidate – Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski (District 24 Łódź) and a candidate who is running outside the pact but is informally supported by all parties by not running an opponent against him. It is the current Independent Senator Jan Maria Jackowski (District No. 39, Ciechanów). Jackowski was removed from the Law and Justice club last year.
Parliamentary elections will be held on 15 October; Poles elect 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.
