Donald Tusk does not want democracy but power; deep in his heart, he dreams of being a dictator, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in a podcast published Sunday. He ruled that PO is an anti-democratic opposition because, among other things, it ridicules the idea of a referendum.
Tusk ‘destroys’ the referendum
The head of government referred to the words of the PO leader on Wednesday.
I solemnly cancel this referendum for you. This referendum is invalid in the deepest and broadest sense of the word. Some pretend this is a political game, and PiS is campaigning with state money
– said Donald Tusk after Wednesday’s meeting of the Civic Platform National Council.
“Tusk doesn’t want democracy
On Wednesday, Donald Tusk threw down the gauntlet on our democracy and its institutions. He showed PO as a fundamentally anti-democratic party
said the prime minister in a podcast. He added that the fall vote “will be a choice between democracy and a system where one man’s vote has the power to override the votes of millions.”
Tusk doesn’t want democracy, he wants power. He has democracy, the constitution on his banners, but deep down he dreams of being a dictator. In short, Tusk wants to cancel the referendum announced in the Sejm in accordance with the Constitution. What else will invalidate? Parliamentary elections he will lose? These are the words of someone who would like to impose his +wish+ on millions of Poles. History knows situations where a chief’s words gained the power to invalidate the letter of the law. It is a return to the so-called Führerprinzip principle of leadership, which identifies the leader’s will directly with the law
said Morawiecki.
He added that “the opposition that calls itself democratic touches the foundations of the constitutional order in Poland and is fundamentally undemocratic.”
We treat the will of the nation as an obligation, they – I have the impression – treat the will of the nation as a problem to be circumvented. Therefore, we must use the correct expression, at least with regard to PO, anti-democratic opposition
– summarized the prime minister.
Among other things, the link to the podcast has been posted. Premiere on Facebook.
