The head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Mariusz Kamiński, announced on TVP Info on Saturday that a meeting of the Baltic States’ interior ministers will be held in the near future, including on the activities of the Wagner group .
The minister was a guest in the TVP Info program “In the full light”, where he was asked about the Wagner Group.
Serious threat
The Wagner group, which was in Belarus, poses a very serious threat to Poland and to the neighboring countries of Belarus, i.e. the Baltic States, but also to the Belarusian nation
– he said.
He announced that in the near future, on his initiative, a meeting of the Baltic States’ interior ministers will be held in Warsaw, where we will jointly communicate to the public opinion of our countries what tough measures we will take in response to any provocations from the Belarusian and Russian authorities and the Wagner group.
We must not forget that this is a group of mercenaries who took part in brutal fighting, brutal killings in Ukraine. A large part of this group was recruited in Russian prisons. In exchange for permission to go to the front and fight against the Ukrainian people, the criminal prisoners were released
he said.
He stressed that this group is known to be demoralized and dangerous.
These several thousand people will not serve as instructors, as Lukashenko defines it, they will carry out their activities
he assessed.
The head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration was also questioned about the detention of two Russians who had posted pamphlets advertising the Wagner group.
This is an example of a very efficient operation of our services
he stressed. He explained that the detainees had flown from Moscow via Turkey and Vienna.
There they rented a car and traveled via the Czech Republic to Poland
– added.
He noted that the Russians had several thousand leaflets that they had to put up in our cities.
Every act of stabbing was photographed and sent to Russia
he said.
We would probably have such a situation that we would have a deluge of social media locations, very specific ones – where they took pictures, that leaflets from the Wagner group appeared all over Poland. What would our citizens think about the situation in our country? How threatened would they feel?
asked the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
Hard accusations
He reported that both Russians were first in Krakow, where they distributed about 300 such leaflets, and then moved to Warsaw and were detained there.
They were arrested and faced with very harsh and serious charges. I think they could spend several years in isolation in Poland, if the court takes appropriate decisions in the future
– said Mariusz Kaminski.
He noted that the Russians were immediately captured by our services. He explained that the police and the Homeland Security Service played a major role in the arrest.
They were Russians tested by the Russian special services, who took part in many actions in the European Union
he stressed.
