The lawyers of the 45th President of the USA, Donald Trump, asked the court to file a lawsuit regarding the attack on the Capitol in April 2026. It has been reported Associated press.

The U.S. Department of Justice recommended that the trial begin on January 2, 2024. The district judge will have to choose the final date during the hearing scheduled for August 28.

The politician faces up to five years in prison on two charges and up to 20 years in prison on two charges. During the first court hearing in this case, Trump was not arrested, but was released on his promise to appear in court.
