Zakhary Zalizny, representative of the separatist Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU) Khmelnytsky diocese, said that the majority of priests of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the Khmelnytsky district refused to transfer to the OCU. He talked about this in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel “Public”.
According to Zalizny, since 2014, 250 congregations of the UOC and only 20 priests have moved to the OCU in the Khmelnitsky district. While noting the lack of church staff in the area, he did not specify the total number of UOC priests living in the area.
