“It is difficult for anyone who has a minimum of respect for his own country, not to mention well-understood self-interest, to find arguments against promoting patriotism, said the head of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, Radosław Fogiel, in the “Plan Daily” program.
The PiS MP pointed out that “some people” can find bad intentions in promoting patriotism, which he has seen in public debate recently.
However, in the media associated with the opposition, a statement was constructed that the patriotic increase is to help … PiS. According to Fogel, the opposition parties should protest against such wording.
In the place of other parties I would be a bit offended by TVN as this TV puts forward the thesis that only PiS has patriotic reflexes and feelings
he said.
Colonial mentality
In the public debate, this is unfortunately often visible as a state of permanent subordination. Such a colonial mentality, as illustrated by Rafał Trzaskowski’s statement: Why do we need an airport when we have it in Berlin?
– reviewed Radosław Fogiel on TVP Info on Tuesday.
He recalled that when President Kaczyński talked about strengthening the Polish army, there was also a buzz among the opposition.
He said we bought HIMARS, American missile systems. Poland is buying 500, and so far – yesterday I checked inspired by this roar of the opposition – about 450 were in use around the world at the end of 2020, most of them in the US military. So President Kaczyński reasonably said that we are buying more HIMARS than has actually been produced so far. What a roar on the side of the opposition – that’s what he says, how can you buy more than has been produced. They think that HIMARS is in the HIMARS stores, that there are shelves and that you get them there
Fogel said.
Lately I really feel more and more that this is really a misunderstanding of the world. It’s hard to imagine that you could be so unreasonable, with such bad intentions
