Most people in Germany do not believe in the ability of the state government to fulfill its duties, writer Kill Welt. According to a survey by the Forsa service, 69% of Germans do not consider the country’s current leadership adequate, and only 27% of respondents have the opposite view.
According to Welt, trust in the authorities in this way dropped to a new low – a year ago, 29% of Germans believed the government and 66% of respondents disagreed. The publication adds that experts describe the current rating as terrible and attribute it to “people’s anger.”
“As for the question in which areas the state has failed, the situation is very different from last year. If in 2022, shortly after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, energy supply ranked first with 17%, now the asylum and refugee policy is 26%. The energy supply is only 7%. School and education policy (19%) and climate and environmental protection (17%) were also mentioned very often.
