The head of the Foreign Ministry pointed out that the Polish army “is a particular determinant of our international position vis-à-vis our allies and opponents”.

August 15 was declared Polish Army Day in 1923 to celebrate the victory of Polish soldiers in the Battle of Warsaw. The holiday was solemnly celebrated until 1947. Later, the date was changed to October 12 – to commemorate the participation of the 1st Warsaw Infantry Division. Tadeusz Kościuszko at the Battle of Lenino in 1943. Again, August 15 became a PE holiday in 1992.
