Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva tweeted that countries should spend money on fighting hunger, not war.
He noted that at the BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) to be held in Johannesburg on August 22-24, states are planning to discuss “some important issues”.
“It is better to invest in fighting hunger than investing in war. Peace is a fundamental issue,” wrote the Brazilian leader.
