The government is unlikely to approve of the Ministry of Transport’s idea to abandon the mandatory reproduction of English inscriptions on diagrams and signs on the subway and other public transport. Such an opinion in a conversation with NSN expression Sergey Golov, Chairman of the Association of Travel Agencies. In his opinion, the height of a special military operation in Ukraine is not the best time to overspend.
“We were preparing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, we spent a lot of money replacing guidebooks as well as all the signage in the subway and in the houses. Now they propose that it be abandoned. Either the authorities, invisible to the general background, are trying to become popular, or they are trying to make money, ”said Golov.
He added that this initiative would hurt inbound tourism, among other things.
