The opposition accuses the government of agreeing to an increase in the retirement age in the National Reconstruction Plan. According to PO MP Karolina Pawliczak, it specifically concerns milestones 67 and 68. TVP Info looked at the files. What do they mean?
Ideas from an MP
Following the PiS government’s announcement of three out of four referendum questions – especially those on retirement age – Civic Platform politicians are spreading fake news that the United Right plans to get Polish women and men to work longer. How do these inventions argue? According to the opposition, the provisions on raising the retirement age were included in the National Reconstruction Plan, which MP Karolina Pawliczak spoke about on TVP Info in the program “Woronicza 17”.
What are these questions for? Well, the ruling party has plans to privatize state-owned enterprises and raise the retirement age
Pawlicka said.
In her view, Milestones 67 and 68 point to such actions. She added that on these points the United Right government would have agreed to raise the retirement age to 2024.
You agreed to this and today, by asking this question, I understand that you intend to raise the retirement age of our citizens
Pawliczk tried to convince.

What are the provisions of the KPO?
Polish KPO milestone records were scanned by TVP Info. In the points mentioned by Pawliczak there is a provision concerning “extension of professional activity…”but according to the Civic Platform that would be sufficient when it comes to compliance with reality.
…and promoting employment after the statutory retirement age
– recorded in milestones.
This means that the documents contain measures to promote longer working lives among people who have reached retirement age. There is absolutely no action aimed at raising the retirement age for Poland.
The text of the milestones is available on the EUR-Lex website.
