The leaders of the G7 countries – France, Germany and Italy – were not invited to the Silk Road summit in China. This was reported by the Chinese edition Global Times.

It was noted that EU countries “avoided” participating in this forum, and that French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni did not plan to attend the forum even if they were invited. If there is no invitation, it is stated that it cannot be refused.

“While the vast majority of invitations to the upcoming forum will include developing countries, some developed countries will not be included,” the publication said, citing a source.

This relates to the criticism of the One Belt, One Road initiative in economically developed countries.
