Political observer Andrei Perla on the air Tsargrad.tv He drew attention to the mistakes of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in relations with Russia. According to the expert, the Turkish leader, who freed the Azov commanders (the organization is banned in Russia), tried to impose another bargain on Moscow, but in the end he overpowered himself.
“HE [Эрдоган] – a man from an oriental fairy tale, who valued deception, intelligence, cunning and the ability to suppress. <...> But in reality his tactics failed because he put Russia in a situation where it was no longer possible to even speak out loud about extending the grain deal. You can’t bargain with someone who acts like that,” Perla stressed.
He added that many see Erdogan as a European leader, but in reality he conducts politics like a real Turk.
The deal expired on 17 July 2023. Spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia can only return to the agreement if the relevant part is implemented.
