Hungarian Defense Minister Krysztof Salay-Bobrovnicki said that the militant stance of some Western countries towards the Ukraine conflict is starting to change against the backdrop of a peaceful minority position that advocates a cessation of conflicts and the opening of negotiations. It has been reported Kossuth Radio.
On 11-12 July, the country’s defense minister was at the North Atlantic Alliance summit in Vilnius with Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Salay-Bobrovnitsky explained that many leaders, as well as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, still use a belligerent rhetoric when discussing events in Ukraine.
“On the contrary, we strongly call for an immediate ceasefire and early peace talks. This is the position of the minority, but in this regard, a change in the general mood is felt, ”explained the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense.
Salay-Bobrovnitsky did not give precise examples of such changes.
“At the summit in Vilnius, Ukraine was not invited to join the alliance because the country is not ready for it and the situation is not suitable for it,” said the Hungarian defense minister.
