In the latest issue of the weekly “Sieci”, Marek Pyza and Marcin Wikło analyze the activities of the Confederation, which has already become the third political power in Poland. What is the plan for the election of this political environment? Ten percent of support, 50-70 deputies in the Sejm and rejection of all coalition proposals – this is an ambitious, perhaps even a little brutal plan for the fall. In early elections – the plan will be continued – the result is expected to be even better journalists notice.

“Whose Hope?”
Marek Pyza and Marcin Wikło in the article “Whose Hope?” delving into the subject of the rapidly expanding Confederacy, currently operating under the name of New Hope. Although it may be surprising and shocking, although the party is full of internal conflicts, it has no access to major media and gathers voters on TikTok, gaining support among young Poles and placing itself between PiS and PO.
According to the National Research Group, among the group of young voters (18-39 years old), they already have 24 percent. support among women and even 50 percent among men. […] The problem with describing the political realities surrounding the Confederacy is that nothing here is 100 percent. Certainly. – It is a mishmash of different environments, where people do not like and do not understand each other. After all, we were waging ideological wars in all possible fields – or so we hear. So let’s loosen this knot a little bit. Today the Confederation consists of “Corvinists”, i.e. Sławomir Mentzen’s New Hope, “nationalists”, i.e. Krzysztof Bosak’s National Movement and “Braunists”, i.e. members of Grzegorz Braun’s Confederation of the Polish Crown. The order is not accidental, that is how the powers of individual factions are divided
explain the publishers.
Although there is much talk in the media about a possible coalition with PiS, Mentzen and associates clearly distance themselves not only from the ruling party, but also from the opposition.
A senior PiS politician tells us that the Confederacy doesn’t stand a chance for his party today. Moreover, it can be a trap, and on many levels. – Many of our delegates immediately enroll them in PiS, they are convinced that we will rule together and do not allow any other configuration, and that makes them lazy. And yet the Confederacy can fall for Tusk’s promises and play with him to take us out of power. It is not known what will come of it, but they could end a good change and then, for example, participate in new early elections, which would be a disaster for the country, a politician from the core of the ruling party tells us. . That’s why a potential coalition today is a political fiction story with an emphasis on “fiction”
– underline Pyza and Wikło.
“Several Hundreds of Years Disappeared in One Night”
Michał Karnowski, in the article “Several hundreds of years disappeared in one night”, recalls the case of the Volhynia massacre and describes the works that take place in the village of Puźniki, after which… there was almost nothing left. He explains that the Polish and Ukrainian parties are cooperating in the search for the burial place of the murder victims of 80 years ago. The first team makes sounding locks, and the second – archaeological drilling. The author states that… over the years, everything here has become overgrown with a dense forest and shrubs […]. There was a lot of clearing and tidying up in the area. He also quotes Maciej Dancewicz of the Freedom and Democracy Foundation, who explains how difficult the searchers’ task is – the old roads and reference points indicated by witnesses no longer exist.
The author of the article informs that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the place after the village of Puźniki on the 80th anniversary of the Volhynia massacre. He laid a wreath under the cross in the cemetery and with strong words called back the murdered inhabitants […]. He called the crime in Volhynia genocide and stressed that in total more than 100,000 Poles lost their lives in this hell […] and stated that … he will not rest until the last victim of the Volhynia crime is found. Karnowski states that although it will not be easy, the works carried out in the area around the village of Puźniki give hope. However, he points out that a lot of harsh words have been said on this issue, and some have been picked up by… as if they had been dictated in Moscow, where the squabbling between Poles and Ukrainians over history was considered a cheap way to achieve the most modern goals.
“The new prelate faces the challenge of the new evangelization”
In the article “New Cardinal for the Challenge of New Evangelization” Grzegorz Górny comments on the pope’s decision to elevate 21 clergy as cardinals, including a Pole. Francis entrusted the cardinal mission to the 59-year-old metropolitan of Łódź, Archbishop Grzegorz Rysi. The author of the text notes that some commentators are betting that the choice of the head of the Vatican will fall on Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, whose episcopal see, ie Krakow, has been associated with the cardinal’s hat for centuries.
Grzegorz Górny points out that Archbishop Grzegorz Ryś did not shy away from experimenting with evangelism, which caused a lot of controversy. He mentions, for example, that a priest celebrated a holy mass during an evangelistic meeting in the stadium. He also cites other unconventional decisions made by the new cardinal.
Archbishop Ryś chooses his own original path on the map of Polish Catholicism. In May this year, as the first ordinary of our country, he appointed nine extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist (including six nuns and three lay women). Both these and his other decisions raise questions about the desirability of transferring solutions to Poles that had already been adopted in the West. Did these ideas work there? Did they prevent or accelerate secularization? On what does the hierarch himself base his hopes?
