Psychologists from Florida State University (USA) have determined which behavior increases the likelihood of a second date for both men and women. The results of the research have been published magazine Sexuality and Culture.

Therefore, men who are better at following etiquette are more likely to get a second interview. Women who engage more through eye contact and laughter can increase their chances of getting back on a date.

The scientists conducted several experiments involving 230 participants. The writers also analyzed episodes of the Dating Kaleidoscope show – each episode of the series chronicles a person going on five blind dates, and people of different races and sexual orientations are invited to dates.

All participants completed a survey – providing their demographic data and describing how a partner should behave on a first date to increase their chances of a second date.

The top four tactics suggested by the men were deep speaking, splitting the bill, using humor, and maintaining eye contact. The top four tactics women suggested were humor, showing interest, being polite and respectful, and looking good.

Then the scientists applied all the tactics and conducted an experiment. Men seem to appreciate women who show interest and flirt. While women value wives who display courtesy and etiquette.
