He explained that Kiev sometimes has to admit that some provinces don’t have as strong support from the United Kingdom.
“My comments tried to reflect what was important. <...> Make an effort to reach other citizens who still need to be persuaded,” Wallace said.
The head of the British defense ministry stressed that the UK’s relations with Ukraine are “partnership”, not “transactional”.
“This was a comment not about governments, but about citizens and lawmakers of the international community,” he said.
