The question of how many referendum questions there will be and what they will be is still before us; I think we will settle it within the next two weeks, Ryszard Terlecki, deputy chairman of the Sejm, head of the PiS caucus, said in Telewizja Trwam.
Terlecki was asked in the context of the referendum on migrants what the question would be.
“In general, we are in favor of it being one question.”
The PiS politician replied that he did not know yet and that the question had not yet been formulated.
There is even debate whether it should be one question or maybe two or three. In general, we are in favor of this being one question, so as not to complicate matters
he noticed.
The question is how many questions there will be and what lies ahead. I think we will solve it in the next two weeks, we will already make a decision, because here, too, there is a calendar strictly established by law, constitutionally, how this referendum can take place and when questions should be submitted
– he said.
On Monday, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced: “We are planning parliamentary elections and a referendum on the relocation of migrants at the same time, also to keep costs low; doing it separately is an extra cost.”
The beginning of the “real campaign”
I think we will start a real campaign after August 15, with the announcement of our election program – announced Tuesday evening on Telewizja Czasm, the head of the PiS club, Ryszard Terlecki.
Terlecki said that when it comes to PiS and coalition partners and their preparations for parliamentary elections in the fall, “they have plenty to choose from so that more young people, including more women, get on the lists.”
The head of the PiS club was asked about the plans of the PiS staff and whether major party conventions are expected in the coming weeks.
Because now there are three more sittings of the Sejm ahead of us, and then we will have an “only holiday” period, in which, of course, we will not stop working, but there will be other forms of action, there will be harvest festivals, several such celebrations and a national holiday on August 15
he answered.
And I think we will then start a real campaign with the announcement of our election manifesto
– added the head of the PiS club.
The deadline for the president to order elections to the Sejm and Senate is August 14. If Andrzej Duda decides that the elections will take place on October 15, the electoral commissions must register no later than the last week of August; The deadline for submitting candidates for the election is early September.
The elections for the Sejm and the Senate will take place in the fall of 2023. There are four possible dates: October 15, October 22, October 29 or November 5.
