Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern, said that Western countries supporting Kiev are trying to use the incident at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZAES) to legalize their direct participation in hostilities in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with TASS.
According to Karchaa, the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was “bumped” and Western countries understand that the current Ukrainian authorities are not trying to prolong the situation.
“For them, the defeat of Kiev in this conflict is their defeat,” said the adviser to the general manager of Rosenergoatom.
Karchaa pointed out that initially the West was at risk and in this sense the point of no return had already been crossed. According to him, the conduct of a special operation at the station, which, according to Western countries, will lead to a nuclear incident, will create a legal “gateway” to legalize NATO’s participation in the conflict. He also emphasized that the image of the Russian Federation as a country capable of carrying out a nuclear terrorist act was deliberately created for this purpose.
On June 30, Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, spread A letter from the UN Security Council (SC) and General Assembly (GA) urging Ukraine to prevent provocations at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
