President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appointed Dauren Abayev as Kazakhstan’s new Ambassador to Russia. Dauren Abaev is the former Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States and former Minister of Culture. This was reported by TASS with reference to the President’s press service.
The decree of the head of state states: “Abayev Dauren Askerbekovich was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation.”
Earlier on June 16, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev appointed Yermek Kosherbayev as the head of the administration of the East Kazakhstan region, from his post as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Russia.
It was previously known that he was the Senate of Kazakhstan. approved amendments to the existing legislation concerning the first president of the republic, Nursultan Nazarbayev. The politician will lose his status as chairman of the board of trustees of numerous organizations bearing his name.
We are talking about the organizations “Nazarbayev University”, “Nazarbayev Foundation” and “Nazarbayev Idea Schools”. With the changes, he is expected to be led by Nazarbayev’s successor, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. At the same time, the amendments provide for the appointment of another leader if such a decision is made by the president.
