Politicians and councilors of Sovereign Poland presented their views on the Clean Transport Zone in Warsaw. They believe that the way it is introduced affects the poorest residents.
Deputy Justice Minister, former Warsaw City Council member Sebastian Kaleta said that “the zone should not be introduced at all in the form proposed by Rafał Trzaskowski”.
The absurdities of introducing Clean Transport Zones in the capital
Not to be unfounded, I checked with the Ministry of Digitization how many cars are registered that will be banned from SCT from next year. And how many of these cars are registered directly in the districts covered by this zone. In concrete terms, this means that these cars are only allowed to leave the garage four times a year, with the permission of the city guard.
he explained.
He emphasized that there are 50,000 registered in this area. auto.
Usually one car does not serve one person, so it is estimated that more than 100,000 residents will no longer be allowed to drive from July 2024.
– added.

I have never encountered such a thing to deprive the citizens of Warsaw of the right to own a car. These people will be directly excluded from communication, and in the coming years this group will grow
he noticed.
Caring for car user
He emphasized that the most important public facilities, offices, hospitals and schools are located in the center of the city and the surrounding neighborhoods.
The consultation report shows that residents are most concerned about not coming to the hospital.
There are major hospitals in the planned zone, serving not only the residents of Warsaw, but also the entire Mazowsze region
he clarified.
Rafał Trzaskowski wants to force parents who go to the hospital with a sick child to get them out of the car and transfer to the tram
– added.
Kaleta: I advocate serious debate
Sebastian Kaleta pointed out that this proposal should be thrown out in this form.
That is why today I ask for parliamentary intervention in this matter. I advocate a serious debate on this issue
– added.
There is so much talk about the constitution, about human rights, about democracy. What to do with human rights, with the right to property, the right to healthcare, the right to move. It seems Rafał Trzaskowski suddenly says 100,000. residents that they cannot leave in their car, unless the city guard allows this four times a year. This is a new communism, not a democratic, law-abiding state
he assessed.
Kowalczyk: Let’s not convince ourselves that Rafał Trzaskowski is a green president
Alderman Damian Kowalczyk pointed out that this provision affects the poorest residents.
Let’s not be convinced that Rafał Trzaskowski is a green president. Cinderellas would be discontinued, public transport would have to be ecological and new tram lines would be built. In the meantime, nothing will change in public transport and, moreover, 130 lines will be canceled or not run at all due to the holidays
– he said.
Let’s imagine that these 50 thousand. switch to this inefficient public transport
– added.
Councilor Cezary Wąsik stressed that the poorest people cannot be punished just because we will fight for clean transport.
Because if we want to fight for clean transport, Rafał Trzaskowski must speed up work on the third, fourth and fifth metro lines, he must build a ring road in the inner city that would relieve traffic and reduce congestion
– added.
Rafał Trzaskowski fights drivers with driving bans, first the paid parking zone and now the clean transport zone
he assessed.
Sebastian Kaleta recalled that Rafał Trzaskowski promised underground parking, but he is not doing anything in that direction, he only forbids cars to enter.
There is no investment, there is a ban. And the poor must pay
he stressed.
