There is no difference of opinion between PSL and Szymon Hołownia in the case of 800 plus, People’s Party chairman Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz assured. He added that the leader of Poland 2050 supports the PSL amendment, assuming that the benefit increased from PLN 500 to PLN 800 will be due to people working.
The government has passed a bill increasing the benefit from 500 plus to PLN 800 per month; the changes will take effect on January 1, 2024.
The leader of Poland 2050, Szymon Hołownia, stated that he would not support this project.
We will vote against 800+ because it is wasted money for elections. We will build an economic Poland that will invest this money in our future
– Hołownia wrote on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
Kosiniak-Kamysz was asked by PAP if PSL shares Hołownia’s position.
We will table an amendment as we believe this should be (benefit 800 plus – PAP) for working people, at least one person in the family should be working
– said the president of the PSL.
In response to Hołownia announcing a vote against the project to raise more than 500, the leader of the People’s Party assured that there was no disagreement with the leader of Poland 2050 on this issue. He also added that the position on 800 plus was discussed between PSL and Poland 2050.

Change of law
According to the draft amendment to the law on state aid in raising children approved by the government on Tuesday, the payment of the childcare allowance in the new amount – PLN 800 per month – must be made no later than February 29, 2024, with compensation from January 1 2024. The justification of the draft explains that the extension of the payment deadline is due to the need to introduce technical rules to ensure that the social insurance institution has time to handle all cases efficiently.
Of course, ZUS will, as far as organizationally possible, make every effort to ensure that the payment of the childcare allowance in the new amount of PLN 800 is made on a continuous basis, i.e. from the payment due before January 2024, made in January 2024.

The change in the amount of the benefit will take place ex officio, without a supplementary application having to be submitted. The benefit of 500 plus is paid from the birth of a child until the child reaches the age of 18. Both children living in families and children in foster families are entitled to it.
