Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that at the NATO summit in Kiev he expects to receive an invitation for the country’s simplified participation in the alliance. His remarks in a briefing to the German media are quoted on the website of Vladimir Zelensky’s office.

“Ukraine’s position: the expected result is to receive a simplified invitation to join at the summit in July (to NATO. – socialbites.ca),” said Yermak.

At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian leader’s office noted that the Ukrainian authorities want to receive a clear signal that will correct Ukraine’s path to NATO membership. According to Yermak, if the open door policy continues, Russia will receive a “bad signal”.

He said that there are daily consultations and negotiations with Ukraine’s partners so that the upcoming summit will be fruitful for him.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna said that there are 15 NATO member states. ready to support Kiev’s request to join the alliance is at the July summit in Vilnius on 11-12 July. Stefanyshina added that the vast majority of the European countries of the North Atlantic Alliance meaningfully support Ukraine’s decision to join the organization, believing it to be a guarantee of security.
