Vatican Foreign Minister did not exclude the papal envoy’s meeting with Patriarch Kirill 01:50

Vatican Foreign Minister Cardinal Pietro Parolin announced a possible meeting of Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the papal envoy for the settlement of Ukraine, with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. Transmits words TASS.

“I don’t think there is any difficulty in meeting with Patriarch Kirill,” said Parolin.

According to him, the meeting could well happen, but the issue should be discussed with Pope Francis in order to “dissolve his intentions”.

Earlier, Cardinal Zuppi, President of the Italian Bishops’ Conference, was appointed by Francis to head the Vatican’s “peace mission”. As part of this work, he has already visited Kiev, where he met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and religious representatives.

It was previously known that Zuppi. accepted Kremlin’s permission to visit Moscow.
