Igor Zhovkva, vice-president of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that 20 NATO countries support Ukraine’s membership in the alliance on paper. He announced this on his page on social networks.
According to him, a joint statement signed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ottawa supports Kiev’s NATO membership.
Ukraine as previously reported will receive Algorithm of actions for joining NATO after the end of hostilities at the summit in Vilnius. Vladimir Gavrilov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense of the country, is sure of this.
“There are all signs that Ukraine will get what it wants in a certain format,” Kiev said. Gavrilov expressed confidence that with the adoption of a resolution on Ukraine among the members of the Alliance, there will be no “big problems”.
Ukraine’s NATO membership is still untouched, said Dmytro Kuleba, head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
