Today I have decided to cancel my membership of the Left and of the Parliamentary Club of the Left. The reason is the growing differences in the program, says MP Karolina Pawliczak on the website of her parliamentary office.
In a statement, MP Pawliczak announced that this decision had long been ripening in her due to the growing discrepancies in the program, which she has inquired about many times.
However, out of respect for the voters who voted for me, I have not taken this step before. Today, at the start of the election campaign, I am making this extremely difficult decision in conscience and fairness to the voters
she wrote.
The parliamentarian from Kalisz denied – as she wrote – “providing untrue media information that justified her decision with talks about places on the electoral list”.
I inform you that I have not taken part in discussions on this matter. This was confirmed by the chairman of the voivodeship structures, who informed that decisions will be made only in this matter
she wrote.
Supporter of unification
She stressed that she has always been and will continue to be in favor of building a strong block of cooperation and understanding on the side of the democratic opposition.
I will consistently continue to work to strengthen democratic values on this side of the political scene as I want to create reasonable, serious and responsible policies for our country
she added.
In an interview with PAP, Karolina Pawliczak said she left with respect for all her colleagues and no regrets.
It’s all about keeping class
– she said, emphasizing that she is in favor of building a strong bloc on the opposition, “a strong common understanding, because only then will there be a chance for change.
She explained that she would be an independent MP for the time being. He does not yet know on which list he will stand as a candidate for parliament in the next elections.
The response from the left
Everyone has the right to leave, everyone can slightly change their program views; if Karolina leaves Pawliczak on the left, it will be a velvet divorce
Krzysztof Gawkowski, the head of the Left club, said in the PAP Studio, referring to Interia’s previous findings.
The Interia.pl portal reported unofficially on Wednesday that the vice president of the Lewica club, Karolina Pawliczak, will leave the ranks of the New Left; the reason is – as said – the number on the list in the Kalisz constituency, from which she would start in the future parliamentary elections. “Our unofficial information shows that Karolina Pawliczak is closest to the civic platform and will want to move away from the lists compiled by Donald Tusk,” the portal reported.
Referring to this information, Gawkowski said on Wednesday at the PAP Studio that “if Karolina Pawliczak leaves, it will be a smooth divorce.” He added that everyone has the right to leave, and on the left “no one will hold anyone accountable for that”.
