The agreement between NSZZ “Solidarity” and the government is historic. A bill on the termination of the bridging pension will be published shortly. Employees working in particularly difficult conditions will take early retirement, said the chairman of NSZZ “Solidarność”, Piotr Duda.
Historic agreement between the government and “Solidarity”
The chairman of NSZZ “Solidarity” Piotr Duda in Huta Stalowa Wola said that the agreement he will sign with the prime minister is a historic event because for the first time since 1991, the union headquarters signed the agreement with the government and it does not only apply to affairs of one industry.
He admitted that “these were difficult conversations”.
This agreement confirms to me in one thing that dialogue works in this country, only this dialogue must be desired. This is often a difficult compromise
Duda said.
He noted that “one of the main postulates being negotiated was a bill which, he noted, he hoped would go to parliament as soon as possible to halt the phasing out of the bridging pension process.” As Duda emphasized, “this is a historical postulate.”
As he noted: “Mr. Lech Kaczyński would be proud of us today for returning to this postulate and with this decision, this signing and the whole legislative process in the Sejm, we will ensure that workers who work hard in hard, special jobs, like here in Huta Stalowa Wola – will be able to take early bridging retirement,’ said Duda.
He stressed that “this agreement is the essence of solidarity with another human being”. He added that the next point is “changing the minimum wage law.”

From the minimum wage, for example, we exclude an allowance for night work
For the first time in many years, together with the government, we have succeeded in developing solutions that allow people who work on the so-called rubbish contracts, ie hourly rates, to also be excluded from the minimum wage of the so-called night allowance and seniority allowance.
– said the chairman of NSZZ “Solidarność” Piotr Duda in Huta Stalowa Wola
Because if we say this is an allowance, by what right – so to speak – is it included in the minimum wage?
he stressed.
Duda added that allowances for work in hazardous and damaging conditions will not be included in the minimum rates.
He judged that in these cases the government approached the matter “responsibly” and agreed to the proposal of “Solidarity”.
The chairman of Solidarity also spoke about the postulate of supporting energy-intensive companies.
There will be another support tranche for energy-intensive companies. (…) Today, such companies – such as the zinc smelter in the town of Śląskie – can continue to operate, but they would be declared bankrupt or liquidated
he evaluated, pointing to previous government support.
From April 1 to the end of the year, a monthly bonus of PLN 600 on the remuneration for DPS employees
We found a solution, from April 1 to the end of the year, a monthly bonus on the remuneration for DPS employees, and there are 55,000 of them, PLN 600
Duda said.
In addition, urgent solutions and conversations about system changes with regard to social workers. We also haven’t forgotten a very important element that applies to all of us, and I mean the company’s social benefits fund. It exists in every company
– he said.
