In the presidential campaign, Rafał Trzaskowski’s associates tried to prove that there are two Poles: “Trzaskowski’s laughing Poles” and “Duda’s hysterical Poles”. Since Donald Tusk’s return to Polish politics, we actually have two Poles: the smiling Poland of PiS and the hysterical Poland of Donald Tusk’s raised fist.
We must win this battle and not wonder whether this or that leader is more or less important. I handled difficult things. I called for a demonstration, I promised to organize and finance it. This is a great endeavor and I’d rather we all help each other on this issue, and not whine about what right Tusk did something. I want people on the street to show this power on June 4, whether they like it or not
– said Donald Tusk in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza” before the march on June 4.
Donald Tusk returned to Poland with his fist raised and he did not fall. Immediately after his return, he divided Poland into good and bad. Good would be on the PO side, evil on the PiS side.
I came back. Today evil reigns in Poland. We go into the field to fight this evil
– said Tusk almost two years ago, in July, shortly after his return.
And for two years now, with a twisted face and a raised fist, Tusk has been encouraging confrontation and hatred. No wonder Tusk’s die-hard supporters understood him literally. All those people who want others to “give…”, “fuck…”, make threats, shout hate, they are fans and students of the PO leader. Today, Donald Tusk’s hysterical Poland threatens not only the democratically elected government with its fist, but also those who elected it. A few weeks ago Rafał Trzaskowski stated in Sosnowiec that there is no place for such views in Poland.
We all know that the young generation, you, will decide an absolutely fundamental issue: who will rule Poland. Will it be the opposition, democratic parties, or will PiS be supported by its supporters again; by those he has bred over the years, who have absolutely extreme views for which there is no place in Poland and which we will never accept
Trzaskowski thundered off the stage.
If the hysterical Poland of Donald Tusk insults left and right, swings his fists, wants to physically harm political opponents and denies them the right to exist, what does the laughing Poland of Jarosław Kaczyński do? He is happy with the lowest unemployment rate in history, he is happy with the increased tax-free amount and child benefits, he is happy with the rising salaries, he educates his children, he sends them on vacation, he enjoys the growing number from places in daycares, he uses the Family Care Capital, buys textbooks with money from the Good Start program, etc., etc.
This smiling Poland will also march. June 18 in the March for Life and Family. In two weeks you’ll see how different it is from Tusk’s hysterical, hateful, fist-wielding Poland.
