We, the nation, have the right to say clearly what kind of Poland we want. We want a democratic, open and European Poland – said Warsaw Mayor and Vice-President of PO Rafał Trzaskowski during “June 4th”.
Participants in the Sunday march organized by PO and Donald Tusk gathered at Na Rozdrożu Square in Warsaw. The march, which started at 12 noon, is a protest against the current government. It is attended by the leaders of the main opposition groups.
We, the nation, you are all here from all over Poland, and I see signs from all regions, from all cities and towns in Poland, I see Polish and European flags, I greet you all warmly
– said Trzaskowski to those present.
As he stressed, “we, the nation, have the right to say clearly what kind of Poles we want.”
We want a democratic, open and European Poland
said Trzaskowski.
This place where we are has a symbolic name – Plac Na Rozdrożu. But I am absolutely convinced that we are all on the same road, the road to victory
– noted the mayor of Warsaw.
“Authority tries to destroy democracy”
He added that the community needs to be rebuilt.
A community of free and brave people. Wake up Poland! Especially in times when the authorities try to destroy democracy, politicize all independent institutions, when they practically take us out of the European Union or put us on the margins, then we are talking about freedom
Trzaskowski called.
These choices before us are about freedom from people who want to teach us how to live, indoctrinate schools, trample on women’s rights and attack all minorities. We’ve had enough!
said Trzaskowski.
Attorney Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram of the “Free Courts” Initiative also referred to the issue of women’s rights.
I’m here because I’m a woman and I want to be able to decide for myself. I want to decide for myself what my family and my life will look like. I am here because the Rubicon of humiliation against women has long been crossed, because we have been robbed of our dignity, because we are being treated with tear gas when we start fighting for our basic rights
– she said.
But I think to myself that these shameful actions of the authorities against women and the disgusting words of politicians directed at women are already the swan song of the patriarchy, because it thrashes and thrashes that the end is coming
– emphasized Gregorczyk-Abram.
As she said, the law should “protect us from the vagaries of power.”
