Ukraine’s Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Solsky said the country is considering alternatives to the grain deal that does not involve Russian participation. It has been reported Reuters.

According to Solsky, the grain corridor is now virtually closed, as Russia has restricted the registration of ships bound for the port of Yuzhny in Odessa.

“This is not the way it works. Then we will be ready for plan B, which depends on us, the UN. I don’t think we will remain passive if this continues in the near future,” he said.

He clarified that the second plan “excludes the fourth party from these relations”, that is, Russia.

Earlier, the UN said that the grain deal was again suspended due to Russia blocking the registration of ships in Ukrainian ports. Moscow took such a decision as ammonia exports did not improve. On May 18, Moscow agreed to extend the grain agreement for another two months, provided that obstacles to Russian grain and fertilizer supplies are removed.
