Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko said that the Ukrainian authorities blocked all attempts by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi to strengthen the security of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). “Kiev has blocked all the attempts of the Director-General of the IAEA aimed at strengthening the security of the ZNPP,” said Grushko.
According to him, the rejected proposals include the draft of a tripartite agreement, two separate formats of bilateral agreements between the Russian Federation-IAEA and Ukraine-IAEA, the creation of an operational and physical nuclear safety zone at the Zaporozhye NPP.
Grushko emphasized that Grossi’s latest initiative includes several important elements, the implementation of which will help stop attacks on ZNPP.
