Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitriy Peskov evaluated the information in the Turkish media regarding the intention of Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the briefing he held with journalists.

A Kremlin spokesman noted that the leaders of the two countries plan to meet in the foreseeable future.

“When Putin called and congratulated Mr. Erdogan on his election victory, the presidents confirmed their intention to hold a bilateral meeting in the near future. There is an understanding that we are already preparing for such a meeting,” he said.

Previously, Hürriyet correspondent Hande Fırat reported the following after Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s swearing-in ceremony to Turkey: future Presidents of Russia and Ukraine – Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.

The journalist noted that many foreign leaders are planning to attend the swearing-in ceremony and that Vladimir Putin will make a “separate and special visit”, followed by the Ukrainian president’s visit to Turkey.
