“Thanks to this decision by the president, we have a historic opportunity to clean up the Polish political scene,” said Jarosław Krajewski on the program “Gość Wiadomości”.
The PiS MP discussed it with PSL’s Bożena Żelazowska. The subject was the signing by the President of the Law on the Committee on Russian Influence.
Żelazowska assured that the appointment of the committee would not cause fear among opposition politicians.
I don’t think the opposition has anything to fear. Because the opposition has nothing to hide. What is Jarosław Kaczyński afraid of appointing such a committee before the elections. If he wasn’t worried, then not such a committee, but the prosecutor’s office and the courts could deal with it for eight years
– she said.
The war in the East started in 2014. PiS has been in power since 2015. This is the eighth year of this party’s rule. It’s been a long time to study Russian influence. (…) Today this commission is a creation to replace the Polish courts
she added.
Jarosław Krajewski from PiS talks about a historic opportunity that will be presented by the appointment of the aforementioned commission.
Thanks to this decision by the president, we have a historic opportunity to clean up the Polish political scene when it comes to people who made administrative decisions that influenced those administrative decisions under Russian influence. We have to tell ourselves honestly. Today, most Poles want to explain to what extent Russia wanted to make Poland dependent, both in terms of energy security and military security, and to weaken Poland’s independence in the international arena. Therefore, this commission has a historic opportunity. I hope that its composition will allow a thorough, prepared and substantive explanation of all aspects of Russian influence on Polish security.
he said.
It is PiS that is determined to appoint such a committee, with great fear from the opposition. Especially Donald Tusk and PO, who fear the truth will come out. They are afraid that they cannot explain their talks with Putin or, for example, decisions that had to make Poland dependent on Russian gas
– added.
He also argued that opposition deputies fear the appointment of the commission.
I observe this panicked fear (…) I feel it is the fear of exposure. Poles have a right to information
– said the PiS MP.
PSL’s Bożena Żelazowska argued that the law concerning the law is unconstitutional.
I’d be more scared if I were in your place. You voted for a bill that is unconstitutional on at least seven counts
– she said.
She also claimed that the sitting prime minister should stand before the committee.
Prime Minister Morawiecki is also afraid of this. Because the first defendant to appear before this committee will be the Prime Minister
Zelazowska said.
Pro-Russian PO-PSL government
Jarosław Krajewski claimed that the commission poses no threat to the government.
How can we be afraid of something we voted for? We are for the transparency of public life. (…) PSL co-founded this very pro-Russian government in 2007-2015. PO and PSL are like the devil afraid of the holy water of the committee that should come to the truth
– he said.
It is important that the Constitutional Tribunal decides on compliance with the Constitution, not the PSL deputies. If the opposition MPs are not afraid of the truth, I understand they will nominate their candidates for the committee and work hard to find out the truth
– added.
