There are still 150 meters of installation left to complete the construction of the electronic dam on the last of the eleven sections, located near Narewka and Białowieża; engineering works there are currently hampering conditions in the field, as these places are under water. Installation is possible when the water level drops.

In Podlaskie, all border crossings with Belarus are closed until further notice. Only railway crossings in Kuźnica and Siemianówka are open.
Currently, the rules for the border strip are in effect in this region, and the restrictions are governed by the ordinance of the voivode issued in September 2021 on the prohibition to remain on the entire part of the border strip (15 m inland from the state border line or from the edge of border waters) on the border with Belarus, ie on the external border of the EU.
