The information came too late to the president’s chancellery, to the presidential center – said the head of the International Policy Office Marcin Przydacz in Polsat News, when asked about the missile that fell near Bydgoszcz. “Some procedures in the communication context also didn’t work,” he added.
“Information came too late
At the end of April, the Ministry of National Defense announced that the remains of an unidentified military facility had been found near the town of Zamość, about 15 km from Bydgoszcz. A random person ran into him in the woods. It was emphasized that the situation does not endanger the safety of the residents. The GdaÅ„sk District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into this case.
Marcin Przydacz emphasized in Polsat News on Thursday that “at the beginning the information that reached us did not yet indicate a specific origin, these were fragments that were found.”
That’s what the services, institutions such as the public prosecutor’s office are for, to verify these kinds of things. And we – as politicians, commentators, diplomats – are not here to inflate emotions if we don’t have full knowledge. Today we can say more
– noted the presidential minister.
As he added, “Indeed, this information came too late to the Office of the President, to the Presidential Center.”
We’ve talked about it many times
said Przydacz.
A matter of communication
According to him, “some procedures in the communication context didn’t work either”.
This needs to be improved at both national and NATO level. (…) Even the Americans and the British stationed in Poland have, in a sense, overlooked what happened on that fateful day
he stressed.
The head of BPM judged that “this situation shows that we need to work together”.
In this lesson we can learn how to deal with situations like this that were not there before
he noticed.
Motion to dismiss the head of the Ministry of National Defense
Asked whether, in the opinion of the president, the opposition’s motion to dismiss Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak, Minister of National Defense, is justified, Przydacz made the reservation that “as regards powers of control over the Polish government, according to the Polish Constitution, the Polish Parliament has them.”
There are also no motions to recall the generals on the president’s desk
– added.
President Andrzej Duda believes that in such a situation, where we are fighting a war east of our borders, where there are challenges that we have not faced before, one should not make decisions too hastily and based on emotions, and only based on the expectation of one or the other party
noted the minister.
You have to check it well. If during the verification procedure it turns out that there have been intentional or unintentional but specific errors or actions that endanger us, conclusions will certainly be drawn
said Przydacz. As he added, “there are procedural consequences.”
Facility research
At the end of April, the Minister of Justice announced on Twitter that the prosecutor’s office had started proceedings regarding the remains of an aerial object found in a forest near Bydgoszcz. The Ministry of National Defense reported that the remains of an unidentified military facility were found about 15 km from Bydgoszcz. The resort assured that there is no danger to residents
On May 11, the head of the Ministry of National Defense stated that “procedures and response mechanisms in the case of the object found near Bydgoszcz were working properly up to the level of the operational commander.” He accused General Tomasz Piotrowski of not informing him or the relevant services about the missile that had entered Polish airspace. According to the minister, the December 16 report, which he received from COD, contained information that on that day “no violation or exceedance of the airspace of the Republic of Poland was recorded, which – as it turned out – was false”. He added that any personnel decisions would be made after consultation with the president.
The BBN stated a day later that the information available to the president “does not justify personnel decisions” regarding the highest command staff of the Polish army, and the president has not received any request in this matter.
PO chairman Donald Tusk last week expressed his belief that the entire opposition would sign the motion to sack BÅ‚aszczak. The left demanded the convocation of the National Security Council regarding the object found near Bydgoszcz. The functioning of air defense in this context was one of the topics of President Andrzej Duda’s meeting last Thursday at the National Security Bureau, with the participation of Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ministry of National Defense, Zbigniew Rau, Polish Ambassador to the NATO, Tomasz Szatkowski, Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Rajmund Andrzejczak and Armed Forces Operational Commander, Lieutenant General Tomasz Piotrowski.
