Ambassador Prystaiko says Ukraine can expect a “terrible summer” in connection with the counteroffensive

Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK, Vadym Prystaiko, spoke of an impending counterattack by the Ukrainian army, saying this summer could be “very scary” in the country. He stated this in an interview with ITV. TASS.

“I know it can be a terrible summer, and the cost is very high,” Prystaiko said.

He said there are high expectations among Ukraine’s allies for a counterattack that puts pressure on the Ukrainian military. According to him, the Ukrainian side “understands that it will be extremely difficult to fight a country 16 times larger than us.”

Also, the diplomat commented on the US decision not to supply F-16 warplanes to Kiev, expressing the view that Washington could still change the decision.

The Ukrainian ambassador also acknowledged that support for Ukraine could weaken after the US presidential election in 2024, so the country’s authorities should “pressure” to “immediately” supply arms.
