“We will clean up this mess, I promise,” says Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”. The saying that “no one will give you as much as I promise you” can’t help but come to mind.
After a weekend dominated by PiS, which brought new program details, these words from Trzaskowski are even funnier. I understand that the interview has been conducted before, but it has aged very quickly and ugly. There is too much ritual complaining about the alleged murder of the authorities, who supposedly look after themselves and not the citizens. But not enough detail.
For much of the conversation in “Gazeta Wyborcza”, Rafał Trzaskowski argues that he and Donald Tusk are like one fist, only to make it clear moments later that no one is interested in personal details. However, this is probably not the case, as this loyalty manifesto had to be published in a party-affiliated bulletin.
However, the best part – as in a good detective story – is at the end. It is true that after the announcement of “grandmothers” and interest-free loans, Trzaskowski does not have the nerve to accuse PiS of giving away, but another old record echoes in his words. The “sins of PiS” (the main one) are – according to the mayor of Warsaw – “destroying the independence of the judiciary, the Constitutional Tribunal and the public media.” Hmmm… Let me give you a hint, in the current situation this is not the direction of the campaign that will convince anyone that PiS should be removed from power.
And as for “cleaning up the mess”, I’m not changing my mind, there won’t be a power change in the fall. Enough of conjuring up reality and leaving your own voters in raspberries. But literally cleaning up in Warsaw would be helpful. And in carrying out this difficult task, I will wholeheartedly support Mr. President.
