The third annual Prince of Wales Environmental Project Awards will be presented along with a range of events during Earthshot Week in Singapore. writes about it People.
The five winners in the Earthshot categories will be announced in Singapore on November 7: Conserving and Restoring Nature, Clean Air, Revitalizing the Oceans, Building a Zero Waste World and Better Climate. The winners will each receive £1 million for environmental projects.
Prince William, 40, said: “The Earthshot Award aims to show the world that some of the biggest environmental problems we face have solutions. After two years of searching for exciting ideas and innovations, I am delighted that the award will be in Singapore, where the innovative solutions of our 2023 finalists will be recognized.”
More than 1.5 million people benefited from the award finalists’ decisions over the past year, nearly 2.1 million hectares of land were restored, and more than 35,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions were prevented or absorbed.
Prince William set up the contest in 2020 with plans for the Earthshot Awards to reach 2030. The first awards ceremony took place in London in October 2021.
