I already analyzed before the weekend “The Beehive program” Law and Justice that the contrast between Kaczyński’s camp and Tusk’s team is sharpening hour by hour: the answer to Law and Justice’s increasingly specific electoral program is the increasing aggression of the PO.
“Tusk’s anger, his nausea, militias on the streets, insults against voters of the pro-Polish camp – these are the banners they raise. Hypocrisy surfaces every now and then. Their fat women are beautiful, because we do not discriminate against anyone, every person is beautiful, there are also various diseases. But fat people they don’t like can become the target of contempt, even for the presidents of ‘liberal European’ cities. This is the president of Bialystok Tadeusz Truskolaskielected with the recommendation of the KO and associated with the Self-Government Movement “YES! For Poland”, he continued the submission of an Internet troll, in which he disgustedly mocked the attitude of journalists – Michał Kolanka, Piotr Semka and Tomasz Sakiewicz.
They claim that if they were back in power they would take care of the Poles even better than Law and Justice, give them pay raises, social programs (still weak compared to Europe) would be more secure, chops would be cheaper and 100 percent Polish. However, in these warranties, they can only last a dozen or so days. Then again there is blasphemy about supposed thieves, drunkards, husbands who beat their wives. It is a lie. People who – as Tusk put it – drink, beat their children, beat women and have not been disgraced with work for years can happen anywhere. But in their mass, Law and Justice voters are hard-working people, raising children, which is also a huge effort, involved in the affairs of local communities and the homeland. This is confirmed by all sociological data.
For Poland, such an attitude of the main opposition force is bad news. Unfortunately, tensions are rising in the finals of the election campaign and dramatic events await us. The void in the program is so great that apparently decisions have been made to try to take power by force. I expect new coups, destabilizing actions.
If the opposition could take an honest look at itself, it would be asking itself a key question: Why is she so programmatically barren, burnt out, and tired after nearly eight years? My answer is simple: because their ideological roots are the agreement to co-opt the ruling camp in 1989. That decision, the betrayal of millions of workers, decades of collective struggle, meant the acceptance of a number of pathologies and the rejection of Solidarity’s heritage. It was the moment when they sold their souls and the ability to think and act in terms of the common good. The later connection with Berlin and Brussels, assuming the role of a “transmission belt” from the Western establishment’s decisions to the Polish natives, completed the sterilization.
The pro-Polish camp has other roots. The legacy of “Solidarity”, largely thanks to the Kaczyński brothers, he preserved it, transferred it to new times, read it again. He’s had some tough years that toughened him up, taught him to fight and humility.
Because of that even after eight years of rulein a situation of constant attacks within and from abroad, objectively difficult challenges of the era, he retained the will to fight, belief in victory, sense of state mission, pride in achievements, but also an awareness of how much remains to be changed in Poland?
New announced by President Jarosław Kaczyński particularities programmatic Law and Justice confirms this. In the package for today: indexation of the 500 Plus benefit to PLN 800 at the beginning of 2024, free medicines for the over-65s and children under the age of 18, and the abolition of tolls for passenger cars on national roads and in the future also for private cars as soon as possible.
The opposition media will probably only look at it in Piarist, electoral terms. Wrong. For anyone who understands a social and state project of PiS, which is a continuation of the state idea of the late President Lech Kaczynskithis is the obvious direction. Poles have the right to a dignified life, Poland must be very strong, become increasingly wealthy and its resources must be distributed fairly. External disasters, such as a pandemic or war, can slow down this progress, but not stop it. Hence the key in this package is equalizing the real value of 500 Plus and free medicines for the most vulnerable.
It is also a confirmation that these eight years have not been lost. The fundamentals of the economy and the budget are rock solid, the development model is good and therefore there is a lot to share.
But above all, Jarosław Kaczyński’s political project to radically raise the state, society and economy remains the only coherent and confirmed proposal for Poland.
