The head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, considers the Ukrainian government’s decision to include the Hungarian OTP Bank in the list of “international sponsors of the war” as “scandalous and outrageous”. This was reported on the page of the head of the diplomatic department on the social network.
According to Szijjarto, Kiev’s future decision may affect support for EU sanctions against Russia.
It is known that Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Agency (NAPC) recognized OTP Bank as an “international sponsor of the war” in early May.
“At the meeting of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers, I made it clear that it is very difficult for us to even start negotiations on the 11th package of sanctions,” said the Hungarian foreign minister.
Szijjártó also urged the Ukrainian side to remove the Hungarian bank from the list as soon as possible.
formerly known as Szijjarto invited the ambassador US to David Pressman in Hungary for stopping the war propaganda.
