The US and EU decided to reconsider soybean relations with China against the backdrop of Beijing’s peacekeeping efforts, writes “Kommersant”.
According to the publication, at the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Stockholm on Friday, two main issues were discussed – this is “Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine” and “relations between the EU and China”.
As the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, has stated, the EU needs to consider “re-adjusting relations with China”.
“China’s ambition is to establish a new world order where China is clearly at the centre. Russia’s defeat in Ukraine will not change the course of its development. Borrell said China could derive geopolitical benefits from this.
In addition, on May 10-11, talks were held in Vienna between US national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Wang Yi, Head of the Foreign Relations Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
