“Gazeta Wyborcza” published an extensive text by Jacek Kozłowski, former Mazowieckie voivode on behalf of PO, and currently treasurer and board member of Poland 2050 titled. “Poland 2050 proposes: apart until the elections, together after the elections.” Kozłowski in the text, below others point sharply at Donald Tusk.
A board member of Poland 2050 definitely scores Donald Tusk.
Tusk didn’t revive the PO, which had been intellectually dead for years, he didn’t extract new political ideas from it – instead he bolstered its confrontational, anti-PiS potential and image. The Polish-Polish dispute reached an even higher, previously unimaginable level. It is an increasingly destructive dispute in which neither side can propose anything new
he says.
Paradoxically, referring to the opposing set of political values, Tusk begins to resemble his rival more and more in the way he conducts politics. He is no longer a charming and endearing politician who created PO by spreading his wings and gaining power for it; he became a tough, ruthless player, just like Jarosław Kaczyński, representing the archetype of a lone ruler. And to come to power, able to deny their own ideals, promoted years ago, able to put forward more and more populist proposals. What else will we hear after the auction for “grandmothers” to lower interest rates on housing loans?
he adds.
Kozłowski: Tusk’s message is paternalistic and superior
Kozłowski notes that Tusk’s message about the construction of a single list is confrontational, leading us to wonder what the head of the PO actually means.
So the key question, which no one has asked yet, is what Donald Tusk wants? Does he really want a joint opposition list, considering it a precondition for victory over PiS? (…) This is not a partnership message and never has been. It is a paternalistic and superior message, a message from those who have a predetermined and indisputable right, sometimes even a violent message
he makes clear.
The Treasurer of Poland 2050 emphasizes that PO alone will not beat PiS.
Six electoral defeats prove that the opposition united around Tusk and PO in its current form does not have enough potential to defeat PiS
– I’m writing.
Finally, Kozłowski refers to… his friendship with Donald Tusk, then addresses a request to the head of the PO.
Our friendship allows me to say directly: I ask for a true partnership, one that respects what is common while appreciating the need to create diversity. Your tweet responding to the 2050 Polish Coalition Agreement between Szymon Hołownia and PSL: “PSL+Polska 2050 – good luck! Now all forward. We are united by one goal: victory” is a good sign. How different is it then the one you’ve been herding on the communal list for months
he makes clear.
As you can see, Poland 2050 will not submit to Donald Tusk, at least not for now.
