US authorities have announced their intention to set aside up to $180,000 to hold a two-day summit in South Korea or Japan for youth aged 18 to 30 with “excellent leadership qualities.” transmits RT with a link to the grant description. The document clarifies that the need for such an event is linked, among other things, to the growth of instability in the Indo-Pacific region and the need to further maintain partnerships between Washington, Seoul and Tokyo.
“The first youth summit will focus on developing global leadership skills and positioning a small group of approximately 35 young leaders who demonstrate excellent leadership qualities,” the organizers say.
It is emphasized that those attending the summit must demonstrate the ability to “make changes in their communities” and collaborate with like-minded people from other partner countries.
