“8 years ago, in 2015, the change of the Polish system in terms of economy and social policy began. We have launched a campaign showing our local investments in the coming weeks,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Facebook.
There were no major social and infrastructural programs (and improvement of the security of our homeland in the difficult time of war) without restoring public finances. Thanks to this, our budget expenditures are currently very high and the programs we have introduced have changed and are still changing the lives of Poles
emphasized the head of government.
We solved all the problems that winter, the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis in Poland brought. In the midst of the global economic crisis (which they predicted would overwhelm us), we have a much better public finance performance than our PO-PSL government predecessors
the prime minister recalled.
Poland is the leader
Prime Minister Morawiecki drew attention to the tax cut.
Today, Poland is the country with the lowest tax wedge (or one of the 2-3 lowest, depending on which category) of the 22 OECD countries of the European Union. We achieved what entrepreneurs wanted: low taxes for companies and employees – so that it would be profitable to work in Poland
he noticed.
We have opened our country to the north-south communication system, which offers excellent development opportunities. In recent years, we have increased the tax-free amount almost 10 times (from about PLN 3,000 to PLN 30,000) and reduced the tax rate from 18% to 12%. We have also raised the tax threshold to PLN 120,000 – which means that there is an extra financial buffer in the pockets of Polish workers, which cushions the effects of inflation. After all, it will finally fall — I think we’ll see a sharp drop in inflation from April onwards. However, we handle it very differently from the liberal teams of the Third Republic of Poland. They quickly tried to suppress it (although it took them years anyway), but at the cost of great human damage – because they led to two waves of unemployment under Balcerowicz and one great wave of unemployment under Tusk. Millions of people then left Poland – but today hundreds of thousands of them are returning to Poland. I am very happy with this. This is the best confirmation that we are on the right track, that we are moving in the right direction
– reminded the head of government.
PO-PSL governments
Mateusz Morawiecki recalled what the situation was like during the PO-PSL government.
The thought system of the time opposed the national community and exacerbated social inequality. The Polish army was folded, which significantly lowered our security. Minimum wages and pensions were hungry. In the time of the Civic Platform, 5 things grew: unemployment, poverty, national debt, dependence on Germany and dependence on Russia. They did not soften the effects of the relatively minor crisis of their time – on the contrary, they boasted of their resilience in the face of dramatic cries for help from entrepreneurs. Now they try to present themselves as those who can manage the economy – but the facts are completely against this. Although we reduced VAT to zero, revenue increased by 130% and tax for large multinational companies increased by almost three times. I throw the gauntlet to mainstream PO economists – let them face these numbers
– He wrote.
Finally, the prime minister thanked him.
I would like to thank all Poles for being in Poland and for building the future of our homeland with the sweat of your brow. I also want to instill hope in your heart – Poland can be a country of solidarity, wealth, justice and pride. As a United Right, Law and Justice, we are able to deliver on our promises and we do so while reducing taxes. This is a huge achievement that we are really proud of. If you entrust us again with the reins of government, we will continue our work for Poland. We make our program based on meeting Poles all over the country, because you are our experts. Poland should be for everyone and this is our company philosophy. We want it to be the best place to live in Europe
– wrote Mateusz Morawiecki.
