“Sergey Mikhailovich said that he plans to submit his candidacy for the presidency of the Republic of Khakassia,” the headquarters said.

The parliamentarian became a member of the Cascade BARS section, which includes deputies of the lower house of the Russian parliament, as well as legislatures at the regional level. The BARS Cascade unit is headed by Dmitry Sablin, vice-chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee (United Russia) and leader of the Combat Brotherhood.
Sokol previously served as Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Irkutsk Territory and was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Territory. In 2020, he became a deputy of the State Duma of the VII convocation, in 2021 he was elected to the State Duma of the VIII convocation for Khakassia.
