Billboards with the slogan “PiS = expensive”, clearly associated with Civic Platform, appeared on Warsaw buses. This is noticed by, among others, Internet users and readers of our website.
Civic Platform combines PiS with high prices
On the streets of Warsaw you can see city buses with a slogan related to the Civic Coalition: “PiS = expensive”. Banners and billboards with this slogan also appear in other Polish cities. Between the end of March and the beginning of April, the media reported that the largest opposition group launched a billboard campaign.
However, although managed by an important Platforma Obywatelska politician, Rafał Trzaskowski, can the capital’s town hall be so heavily involved in the current political dispute, especially since Varsovians – including bus drivers – can also have very different views? What’s more, public transport is financed by all Warsaw residents, who not only use it, but also pay taxes in the capital.
The slogan “PiS = expensive” was spotted on a bus in Warsaw by one of our readers:
Schreiber: The driver has the right to invoke the conscience clause
Minister Łukasz Schreiber’s wife, Marianna Schreiber, also weighed in on the fate of both drivers and residents of Warsaw who use public transport.
Now let’s imagine that the driver is a right-wing person who, in order to earn a living and support his family, takes up this profession. He drives this bus. He leads the politicization of public lines every day
she wrote.
And every person who needs to return home to his children pays a few zlotys for a trip with such an inscription
she added.
Marianna Schreiber also suggested a rather interesting and clever solution:
PS The director can invoke the conscience clause.
I don’t like using public lines for political purposes
She ended her post.
“Warsaw for everyone” – wasn’t it the mayor of the capital, Rafał Trzaskowski, who ran with this slogan in the municipal elections in 2018? Perhaps he should rather focus on the implementation of this slogan in practice, for example by making bus stops on Trasa Łazienkowska more accessible to the elderly, disabled or parents of babies and small children using strollers, rather than playing political propaganda?
